      Natural Drums Release Notes

      v0.3.4 (Beta) 

      Thank you to our Open Beta Community for the ongoing feedback, suggestions and requests. Take a look at the new features we have implemented and let us know what else you would like to see within Natural Drums.

      BREAKING CHANGES

      Patterns within projects, and presets saved with previous versions of N-Drums will not load properly after this version has been installed.

      Please export any MIDI patterns you want to save before updating to the latest version.

      To do this, open N-Drums in the legacy version and click and drag the export button onto your timeline. You can now update N-Drums to the latest version 0.3.4 (Beta).

      Please contact us if you have any issues with the new version compatibility.

      New Features 

      • Built-in DAACI drum samples! We've included a suite of electronic DAACI drum samples in v0.3.4. This allows N-Drums to be used as a VST/AU Instrument that produces MIDI and Audio, making the workflow neater for DAWS such as Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, whilst maintaining the possibility of using your own instruments with the MIDIFX version of N-Drums. (There are more samples on the way!)
      • GarageBand compatibility. The new N-Drums instrument feature means the plugin is now compatible with GarageBand. Compatibility might still be rough around the edges, as it's early days, so let us know if there are any issues. Read about how to use Natural Drums with GarageBand.
      • Offline mode! Users told us they prefer to work offline sometimes. On a plane? In a studio with no internet? Now you only need to be online to authenticate once every two months, and you can keep enjoying Natural Drums without internet connection in between authentications.
      • Audio export. Now in the instrument version of Natural Drums you can drag and drop audio directly to the DAW or Desktop.
      • More presets. Users told us they love the presets and we've had some requests for more. We've added more built-in presets so that you have more patterns to experiment with. Look out for three Para-Grooves, plus Allelujah Brother, Hats Off Groove, Funky Leader, President James, Squid Pies, Swiftly Off and Tommy Fillhigger all now included in the Natural Drums presets!

      Bugfixes

      • We fixed a bug related to having more than one instance of N-Drums open at the same time. It could lead to artefacts in the UI.
      • We've added better error messages during authentication. If something goes wrong, it's good to know what went wrong.
      • We fixed a bug related to note lengths. This would only affect samplers that use an envelope, but would not be an issue for samplers that work with one-shot samples.

      Bugfixes

      • Restore compatibility with older Mac Operating Systems. Changes in v0.1.8 were causing the plug-in to crash instantly on opening, on macOS versions between 10.15 and 11.
      Thanks to our users especially Scott, Aaron, Peter, Michael, & George for helping us troubleshoot this.

      Improvements

      • Persisted “Shuffle every loop“ with the DAW project as well as with the presets.

      • Prevented user created presets from having the same name as built-in presets. It was confusing. We changed this.

      • Added a bit of colour to the installer. It was boring.

      Interface Improvements

      • New style radio buttons. Pretty!

      • Added some tooltips, to help you find the best way to use features.

      • We changed the presets button. You now have the ability to see the current preset and scroll through all the presets.

      • We changed the global shuffle button. When ‘Shuffle every loop' is enabled, the shuffle icon changes to also show an infinity symbol.

      • Better error messaging around authentication. When your license key doesn’t work, we now tell you why!

      • We now show you an error message on unsupported preset files. If you tried to load a preset that was incorrect for some reason it would just silently not work…now we tell you.

      • We changed the way tooltips behave on the sliders. We now don’t show tooltips with the numeric value on inactive sliders.

      • Added shadows to the yellow and orange toggles and the skeleton input.

      • Made the rotary sliders style coherent with the rest of the interface.

      • Added the ability to reset the dials. Now when you double-click a dial it resets to default (except the main velocity ones).

      Bugfixes

      • Fixed the glitch sound on the first beat on Cubase.

      • Introduced some constraints to the installer

        • The installers will only work in MacOS greater than 10.15 (inclusive)

        • The installers targeting Silicon will not work on Intel Machines

      • Improve thread safety in the Plugin.

      Admin

      • Added third-party libraries acknowledgments. Thank you!

      • Tidying up our code. It’s good to be neat and tidy : ]

      • Updated Terms and Conditions in the installer.

      v0.1.0 (First Open Beta Release) and so it begins…
