Red Strip: Located at the top of the bass page, this strip displays the current rhythm group. You can click on the dark squares within this strip to change the rhythmic stress points of the bassline without leaving the bass page. This changes the rhythmic feel of the part.
Top Grid (Graph): Drag on this graph to control the busyness of the bassline. A higher shape at any point means more notes.
Bottom Grid (White Dots): As you change the patterns in the top grid, white dots will appear here (white dots represent notes). Drag these dots up or down to create a melodic shape for the bassline. Your current chords will change the actual notes.
Bar Control: Located below the bottom grid, this determines the length of the pattern (one or two bars).
One/Two Bar View: If the pattern is two bars long, you'll see buttons with a square and two arrows (shows the whole pattern) and "1" and "2" (zooms in on each bar).
Notes Mixed (Short/Mixed/Long): Controls the length of the bass notes.
Short: All notes will be short.
Mixed: For more ‘natural-sounding’ note lengths.
Long: All notes will be long.
Beat (16 or 8): Affects the entire rhythm group, determining if there are 16 or 8 beats in a bar. 16 feels busier and more syncopated, while 8 feels slower.
